Polar Bear Fight to the Death

Grant was feeling rambunctious yesterday evening, so to get rid of his energy he fought his buddy, Polar Bear in an all-out wrasslin' match.  Check out these action shots.

Bear begins the tussle by going for the jugular.

 Grant beats him back with his powerful upper body strength.

When the reality of the situation hits home, he experiences a moment of terror.

But regains the upper hand and declares victory.

Emboldened by his win, Grant takes on his next foe, Alien.

Soft Monkey Tail

Mariana caught some candid photos of Grant trying to eat the monkey tail in his sleep.  She said he startled a little in his sleep, reached out and grabbed then monkey tail, then rubbed it on his cheek for several minutes while he slept.  What a funny kid.

Out on the Town

We were out in downtown Phoenix tonight since it was in only the mid-80s after the sun went down. Grant was having his meal on the go and decided to help me hold the bottle. He's getting pretty darn coordinated.

There was a lot of noise and commotion with bright lights and traffic and he was great through the whole thing. What a champ!

Loves to Eat His Toys

Tummy Time with Toys

Grant is sleeping on his side now, so muscle building tummy time is even more important.  Mariana captured some great shots of Grant enjoying tummy time with his new toy gifts.  Thanks for the great stuff!  It's a hit with Grant and makes his tummy time so much more fun.

Last week was a rough week for all of us with Grant's immunizations, no more swaddling, no sleep for Mom or Dad, and Mom going back to work.  So, there aren't too many cute moments that we captured.  However, Mariana, our nanny, took a couple cute ones of Grant flirting and talking on the couch.

And here's a retro photo from when Grant was just a couple weeks old.  He's wearing the shirt that Grandma Ruth embroidered for him with an adorable bunny.  :)

Immunizations Wear Us Out

Grant got a whole bunch of immunizations today and the experience wore him out. I can't get the little cutie to eat more than an ounce at a time and he won't sleep for more than 15 min. I hope he's able to sleep a bit more than that tonight because tomorrow is my first day back at work!

BTW, he's a nice, plump 12 lbs. :)

Saying Something Creative

Audio is pretty quiet on this one, but Grant makes cute talking sounds. 

(I had to record it from the side because if he sees my phone he just goes into a trance stare and stops talking.)

Movin' Into the Family Room

We moved the Pack 'n' Play into the family room last night and Grant did just fine. Now if we can only get him to sleep more consistently after midnight, it'll be perfect.

Since we were up early and the weather was lovely, Grant and I went for another walk. When the sun hit his car seat it made him look like he was under an orange Halloween lamp... BTW we have his first halloween costume and I can't wait to show it off! Here's a hint... We got it at Costco.

Samantha came all the way from Florida to visit us and she is so great with Grant!  It's so wonderful to see her again.  I can't believe it has been almost exactly three years since we've seen each other.  We still crack each other up.  :)

A Little Like Costanza

Grant is developing an odd hair growth pattern where it's growing faster in the back and sides than in the front.  That plus the chubby cheeks gives him a certain George Costanza flair.  Just sayin'.

Active Morning

We had a happy and active morning today.  It started off well because we got enough sleep.  We went to bed early last night and Grant slept for 4 hours and then 3 hours. (what a delight!)  Then Daddy took care of him from 4 to 6:30 this morning so Mommy could get even more sleep.  (what a prince!)  After Daddy left for work we had a little play time and went for a walk around the neighborhood. (hello golfers and seniors!)

 I just love this onesie.  It's so silly.

What gorgeous 78 degree weather!  It might not even reach 100 today.

Fascinated by the Ceiling Fan

It's a mystery, but he loves the ceiling fan. It doesn't matter what color, or whether or not its moving, it's a stare-worthy object. Any predictions on how long this fascination will last?

While yesterday started out rough for Mommy with very little sleep, Grant was all smiles for over an hour in the morning.  Lots of smiles and his silly antics make rough mornings bearable.
